Is it my PC or am I just paranoid?

Ok so here's the deal. I just built my first PC a few days ago and I'm having trouble running the game Black and White Deluxe. The game won't load and I get an error message saying, "problem with runblack.exe" or something like that. Now the runblack.exe file is part of the B&W program so I tried reinstalling, but that didn't work. Now I'm out of ideas. I think I might have a bad game disk, because my OS and the four other games I have on here(City of Heros, Deus Ex, You Don't Know Jack, and Star Wars Episode 1) all run fine. Also, my PC plays CDs and DVDs just fine.

So is it me or my PC?

System specs.

-P4 2.8c proccessor

-Asus P4C800-E Deluxe mobo

-ATI Radeon 9800 Pro 128mb

-1028mb dual channel ram

-150gig Hard Drive

-Logitech 640z speakers

-17" CRT monitor

One more thing my Processor runs at 33-36c idal and around 44-45c while playing games. Is this normal? (I tried running a search, but couldn't find an answer)

Thanks guys!

Maybe the game isn't designed for XP. Check the disk and see. You can set the compatability mode to Win 98 if need be. That may correct the problem.

That game originally wouldn't run in Win XP, so I'm pretty sure you need the v1.2 patch, and run it compatibility mode for Win98.

Mike

*EDIT* I also think you might need Windows XP SP1, which you should have already.
*EDIT 2* If that doesn't work, try this

Ok. I downloaded patch 1.2 and apparently you have to remove windows hotfix KB824141. I did that and it runs now! I'm really happy it wasn't my PC!

Thanks for the help!
