as far as popup blockers go, you could try the google toolbar. it blocks a lot of popups, and is kinda handy if you use google a lot
also, if you are open to trying new things, i would highly recommend mozilla firefox. it has drastically cut down on the amount of spyware i am getting, and lessens the popups as well. craig

free spyware removers that are most popular are "Ad Aware" and "Spybot Search and Destroy" most users utilize them both for efficient results.

agreed. in the bast i used spyware guard (i think) to block spyware. it was more annoying than helpful. other people have talked about spyware blaster as well. you might want to read about these two programs if you want to try to block it. can't really recommend them, because i did not like them, but others do

Generally speaking, it's best to keep spyware out of your computer or otherwise controlled. Some of them just keep track of how many times you clicked on their advertisement, others are as dangerous as keyloggers - logging valuable information that you type on your computer and tramsmitting them to credit card fradulent users and such - malicious programs in general.
Like Propain already mentioned, Adaware 6 or Spybot Search and Destroy 1.3 are highly recommended to work together. Remember to update them frequently, as in at least once a week, and run them often. If you're running MS Internet Explorer, the best defense against Spyware, I found, is to do Windows Update frequently too. They seek out the vulnerabilities of Windows OSs often and keeps hackers and such to a limited range within your PC. Hope that helps, kram
