I'm getting ready to ghost my hard drive to another hard drive
And I want to know if I can delete these three items on my hard drive gobackio.in (I have turned go back off)
Page filesystem (pagefile.SYS) hiberfil.sys These three systems are using up about 5GB of disk space.

I'm not exactly sure what you're doing. Are these files on your destination drive or the drive you are trying to ghost? What O/S are you running?
hiberfil.sys is the file that stores all the information stored in your RAM when you set your computer to hibernate. pagefile.sys is your virtual memory. gobackio.bin is used to store restore data for Adaptec's GoBack.

they are on my source drive and I want to know
if it will create a catastrophe if I delete them. I have turned go back off and ASSUME it will not affect anything if I delete that file. I am trying to ghost as small a file as I can, lean and mean, if you know what I meen.
In other words how will it effect the way my computer performs, even if I were not trying to ghost the image.

To turn off hibernation:
In XP, go to Control Panel > Power Options > Hibernation and uncheck "Enable hibernation". In 2000, go to Control Panel > Power Options > "Hibernate" tab and uncheck "Enable hibernate support" This will remove the hiberfil.sys file. The page file should be left alone. As for the gobackio.bin, Try uninstalling the program for it. |
