Quick about clean install
I'm about to install an operating system (Windows XP, in case that proves relevant to the question) and other software on a newly built computer. My question is, when is the best time to install Antivirus and spyware software, or anything of that nature? Immediately after installing the operating system, or after I install everything else?

Here's my recommended sequence.
1 - XP from the disk 2 - Motherboard drivers from the mobo disk 3 - Update XP from the Security Update CD (if you ordered the free one) or from Window Update 4 - Customize Services and personal likes with XP 5 - Install AVG, Adware, Spybot 1.3, PopUp Stopper and update each from their sites 6 - Install all other programs |
