winconfig for windows XP?

Hi, I am new to windows xp... i am used to windows 98.

What's the Run command for setting-up which programs you want to run at start-up?

On windows 98 it was winconfig or something like that.

Do i even use Run for this on windows xp?

thanks,

Matt

I think you are referring to MSCONFIG, and Windows XP does have it. However, it is usually better to use a registry tool or edit the registry yourself if you want to keep things from starting up. MSCONFIG is there if you want it, though.

If you have spybot, in the advanced mode there is an option to edit startup entries and if you dont have spybot I would recommend it since its a must have program.
