Norton Ghost 2003 - Disk Marking

I just started using Norton Ghost 2003 and find that it wants to "mark" my hard drives. I had not seen this with previous versions of Norton Ghost. Just what is happening when my hard disks are marked? Apparently this is some sort of license agreement related issue. This sounds a little ominous. Does the "marking" of the hard drives lead to potential problems in the future? Would this prevent the recovery of an image from a hard drive if I moved the drive to a different computer? Any other issues?

I'm not sure exactly what the marking does, I went ahead and let it mark them and I've had little to no problems with ghost. I recomend makeing a boot floopy with ghost on it, instead of starting the process within windows. I havn't had any bad images this way.
