I'm throwing out a plug here for www.academicsuperstore.com toward anyone who is an educator or student right now.
I just purchased the Adobe Video Collection 2.5 Pro (which contains Premiere Pro, After-Effects Pro, Audition, Encore, and Photoshop CS) for $659. It's listed at $1,800 at CompUSA. They also have a $50 rebate running on it now until November. You have to provide proof in the form of a paystub or student or faculty ID, but it's well worth it. I faxed my info late Thursday, my order shipped free the next morning, and I received it on Tuesday. Just passing along my good experience with the place. Great deals on alot of items makes it worth looking into if you qualify.

What are the restrictions on it if any? Do you have to stop using it once you are no longer a student? Can you use it for commercial productions?

I didn't read of any restrictions. Don't know how they'd ever enforce those, anyway. The software companies just give a break to us poor teachers and students to make their programs more affordable, I guess...
