It seems like I have heard that there are some third party degfraggers out there that are superior to the one that comes standard with W2K (which is what I run). Since it sounds a little dangerous to me just to start downloading random defraggers from the web and giving them free reign on my HDDs, I thought I would ask here what defraggers folks are happy with.
Any suggestions? |

I've heard they have a "Lite" version which is free (but doesn't have all the features) but couldn't find it at their site. Did they discontinue it?

A family friend who has a computer business recommended Raxco Perfect Disk. I like it a lot, it's got the ability to defrag drives that are less than 5% full, as well as being able to defrag your page file, and some other things which you can look into more if you go to the website.

Diskeeper Lite (free) hasn't been updated since the NT4 days - and it's no better than the builtin W2k defrag. I use Diskeeper Pro.
