Why does Firefox....
Not handle image rendering in an efficient fashion? I've tried a number of builds which supposedly are p4 optimized and whatnot, but in each case, I get slow to the crawl performance on pages with large images.
..And it gets all the worse when trying to auto scroll through these large pages of images. I can't be the only one with this problem. Is it a problem with the Gecko engine, or am I the only one experiencing this? System: p4 2.1ghz 512MB ddr I want to switch from ie to firefox already, damnit! |

I have a similar problem with firefox not wanting to load flash in order to play video. I'm assuming that we can both solve these problems with the appropriate extensions, but I have not found the correct one for video yet.
Anyone? -Kev |

Well, I downloaded several versions. One is just Mozilla 1.7.? and the other is Firefox. I thought it said 0.9.
If I have downloaded the wrong version, where do I find 9.2 or 9.3? I went straight to the mozilla.org site for the download. Thanks! -Kev |

OK, yeah I've got 9.3 and it works GREAT!!
Is it just my imagination or does Firefox click thru pages twice as fast as IE? I solved my video problem with the "IEview" extension so that certain IE only pages can be opened in IE. Still learning this Firefox stuff but I AM SOLD! This browser kicks the crap out of Internet Explorer. -Kev |
