DX 9 Help

Hey all,

I have a friend who tried to install DX9B and everytime it finishes copying the files, he gets a message saying " The software you are installing did not pass logo testing" and then the setup fails. We have downloaded DX9B from M$ and it did not help. We also tried to install DX9B from the Doom 3 CD, and the samething happened.

When he installed the latest drivers for his video card(Nvidia Geforce 4 fx 5200) half way through the installation, he got the same error message, but he was able to complete the installation and be able to use the latest drivers for Doom 3.

I don't know much about his system, but he has 1GB of DDR Ram(most likely 3200) P4 2.6Ghz 800Mhz FSB; it's a Sony Vaio. ..Anybody know what is going on? TIA

He disabled Cryptographic Services he must set them to automatic then start the service and install DirectX.

By they way DirectX C is out.

1. Click Start
2. Run
3. Type services.msc
4. Search for service there and enable it.

Thanks Doobie! Your the man! I will tell him to enable the service and see how that works. He told me he disabled some services to be able to run Doom 3 better. Thanks!

Update: That solved the problem. Thanks once again Doob.
