GIMP tutorial

I recently purchase a digital camera, my first one, and I downloaded GIMP 2.0 to go along with it. I have had some fun so far manipulating pictures, but I would really like to find a good tutorial that will show me exactly what I can do with this powerful software. So, if anybody knows of any, please share. TIA.

http://www.gimp.org/tutorials/

It's similar to photoshop in what it can do, how it does it, and the number of tutorials that are out there that show how to use it.

I just searched google with "gimp tutorial".

Hi Dr.G:
On the issue of tutorials for GIMP; they are almost like tutorials to something like photoshop - you may not find something that says: How to use GIMP, however there are tons of tutorials if you know exactly what you want to do, for example you could find tutorials on doing drop shadows or red eye removal. Generic tutorials are hard to come by.
Check out http://www.gimp.org/tutorials/ to get you started or the GUG site: http://gug.sunsite.dk/?page=tutorials ; my suggestion would be to google out what you exactly want to do with GIMP and you will find tons of tutorials. There are some good GIMP books as well if you want to invest in those.

PS: Being a rather rabid fotografer myself, I just have to ask - what camera is it?

It's an HP Photosmart 720 that I got used. I was looking more for a cheaper camera than a high-quality one (I would eventually like to get a digital SLR camera someday when I can afford it), and the pictures it takes are good enough for me. 3.3 megapixels and 3x optical zoom.
