New Games! They dont work.....
ok, I had to format my hdd because of virus issues and this and that so i reinstalled everything , but used my original catalyst driver cd for my radeon 128 pro. So i start up doom 3 , and id say about 5 minutes into it the game just crashes, now with UT 2004, the same thing will happen but instead of just closing like D3 does, ut locks up my entire system so i have to restart my pc. So i went to ati's site and got the newest drivers, i have direct x 9.0 obviously. does anyone have any ideas on how to remedy this little issue, if so any help would be great, thanx in advance

if win XP, i might do a system restore back to just before you installed the ATI driver from the disc and then install fresh from the ATI site.
I think it is recommended to do an uninstall before upgrading a video driver.

Okay, your motherboard drivers are up to date(?), as are sound card drivers(?), if you have one.
So explain, step by step, what it was you did with the video drivers. It really sounds like you skipped something.

From what you posted that seems to be entirely a game problem with 2004 go here : http://www.ina-community.com/forums/...hp?forumid=249
and copy the whole thing into your post . I'd think you want the forum section about servers since the single player isn't the problem. Does the game have the latest patch ? What sort of internet connection do you have and is it only a problem with UT 2004 ? You don't mention Doom 3, is the game working for you now ? |
