dvd shrink question

I travel a fair share and like to take movies with me, but hate the idea of losing, destroying, and carrying the entire case with me so I have been backing them up. I attempted to backup hidalgo several times and i cannot get the subtitles. I have never had this issue before, as I believe this would be the first movie that had subtitles. So now when the indians talk or the arabians talk I have no idea whats going on. I looked through my preferences but, it seems like they are set-up correctly. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm pretty sure there is a check box to enable sub-titles and what language you might want to check the help menu also for more support.
