Start with doing a virius and spyware scan. Then empty your temp files. Then run scandisk and then defrag(in safe mode).

I got this computer around november of last year, with a broken HDD that i needed to replace and install windows on, so its been almost a year.

As far as virus/spyware scans...i run adaware every week or so, but dont have any virus software. The last time i did a virus scan i used an online one at www.pcpitstop.com about 2 weeks ago...didnt find anything but i will try to find something free that works so i can scan, as well as defrag and scandisk.

Housecall is good to use of online scans. AVG is good to install and use as a regular AV scanning program.

AVG: http://free.grisoft.com/freeweb.php
Housecall AV: http://housecall.trendmicro.com/
