Can't fully remove program
I started to install civilazation III gold the other day. When it asked for disk two I realized I couldn't find it, so I canceled the install. I've since found it and have made an attempt to continue with the install. However now when the install screen comes up I only have the choice of modify, repair or delete. I've tried each of these. I've also tried searching the registry for anything "CIV" and deleting it. However somewhere in my system the install program is picking the remrants of the original install. Can anyone suggest how I can fully remove this program so I can install it fresh and complete???

Is there an entry in the Add/Remove Programs window in the Control Panel? Try that.

I've tried that already. There's nothing there that refers to Civ.

Sounds like you still have a registry key lurking....since you have already looked for CIV try searching for the company that makes the games.

Sounds like an InstallShield problem. Look into your Program Files folder, there should be a hidden folder named "InstallShield Installation Information". Rename it to something else (add a "2" or something else to it), and you can now install Civ 3. But you still need the uninstall info for other games/apps, so when Civ 3 has been succesfully installed, copy the contents of the new "InstallShield Installation Information" folder, which should now contain working uninstall info for Civ 3, to the old one ("InstallShield Installation Information2" if you named it as I suggested, otherwise pick the name you chose), delete the new "InstallShield Installation Information" folder and rename the old one to it.
I hope my directions are not too complicated

This is exactly why this web site is worth its weight in gold. Thanks Mesaeus, that's exactly what the problem was. Your instructions worked perfectly. Now! On to wasting my life away while I could be doing work!
