making self extracting files

i hae a lot of maps for unreal tournament 2004, and was wondering how to go about making a self extracting file, or how to set up winrar to hold all these files, and when i double click the file, or unzip it, it puts all the files in the correct folders, how would i do this?

WinRAR will do it well .. when making the archive (Create) check mark the Create SFX archive in the General Tab. Then go to the ADVANCED tab and click on the Advanced SFX Options buttons. There are a variety of options most of which are self explanatory, the WinRAR help is excellent as well.

thanks thats great, when adding a file to archive in winrar, i set the sfx options like you said, but does this mean all the files in the archive will be extracted to the same place? also, if this is the case, how do i add files to winrar (not in a folder) and have numerous files in that one archive go to differant places? sorry if its a dumb question.

figured it out now, thanx.

im putting the winrar.exe files onto a dvd+r disc, will the files be secure in that format for long term storage (data) or would you advise zipping the .exe file afterwards?

the main thing i would like to know is how much stuff can i put into one rar file?
