Question Disabling installation of certain software

Is there a way that I could make it so that Starcraft will not install on my PC's? A friend is coming over and wants to install it on my PC's so we can play multiplayer but I hate that game. It's just stupid. I want to subtily avoid playing it.

A simple no should suffice for that answer. I do not believe there is anything that can help. Besides, why do you dislike Starcraft? I love that game. I play it quite sparactically, but it is still so much fun! Why dont you simply tell him that you do not like the game and would not like him to install it?

maybe it would be possible (with windows xp or 2000) to create a security policy to disallow execution of files named (insert file name here).exe?

it may not be possible so someone correct me if its not.

I'm too nice to say no. Anyway it's too late now. I just don't like the game. I'm not a huge fan of futuristic space games and the sounds, names, and look of things annoys me. I prefer Age of Empires or Rise of Nations. Same thing just more realistic and no odd things.

Try to convert him to your way of thinking then ... say "Hey, why don't we try this one?"
