Nero 5.5

Hi Everyone,

I have done some compilation of audio CD for my own listening pleasure and burnt this on a CD. However, I can play this on my DVD and mini-compo but not on my dedicated CD player.
I have update on Nero and re-boot the pc and it still cannot work.
I wonder is there such an update for the (Iomega 40x12x40) CD burner? Or shall I re-install the driver for the burner again?

Anyone there can help?

Thanks.

Some CD-Players, especially older ones, will not play burned CDs. Usually, you have a greater chance of being able to play a CD-R than a CD-RW, so if you burned on to a CD-RW, switch to CD-Rs. If not, then your player may simply be incompatable. Do a Google search on the model number to find out. Also, try the CD in other CD players.

Nero 5.5

Hi Mike,

The problem is, my player can play the Burned CD in the past. Somehow, I accidentally did something to the software that it now does not allow me
to play. I tried playing on my DVD and mini-combo CD players and it works but not on the CD dedicated player.
I shall try to re-load the Iomega CD-RW driver and see how.

Thanks.

Might want to update the Nero too. Don't know if it will help, but it's worth a try.

Have you checked to see that you are burning it as audio or mp3 instead of data cd?

There is no such thing as a CD-RW "driver". Windows sees any optical drive as a CD-ROM and it's the software you're using that makes it work as a burner or a DVD-ROM. Some CD-ROM drives can have their firmware updated, if that's what you mean. But if the drive you're trying to read the discs from is kind of old, maybe it needs to be cleaned or is just giving up the ghost (dying).
