Spybot S&D System Restore creation takes ages!

Hey guys,

Just did a routine full system scan with Spybot Search and Destroy and at the point where it makes System Restore points after the problems have been fixed, it takes ages. The "Creating System Restore point...." box in Spybot S&D is still on my screen as I type this post! It's never taken this long before. Any ideas?

TIA...

I've had that happen when I installed Spybot 1.3. Just close out of Spybot, reboot when you can, then run it again. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Otherwise, you can disable the Sys Restore function on the advanced tab, by going to options.

The same thing happened to me. I disabled the "auto restore point creation" like Kram said and all is well. I don't see why they put that in there. Windows already creates restore points daily.

Righties. Well, I've closed out of Spybot and am currently doing a routine full system scan with Ad-Aware SE. Once I've completed that and deleted Temporary Internet files, run a Disk Cleanup and then Defragged, I'll reboot, run Spybot S&D and disable the System Restore point creation. Thanks guys!
