Gif files

Weird question. Here it goes. When I open up gif files on the internet the gif animation will not move. However it moves fine when I load the file off my computer.

So lets take this practice image i was making. http://img40.exs.cx/my.php?loc=img40&image=Test1.gif .When I click that link..the image is not moving and when I right click to save as...it only lets me save as .bmp file. However on my other computer when I click that link I can see the gif animation and when I click save as it allows me to save it as .gif. I use irfanview on both computers, however on the one that the animation does not work on I installed alot of gif creator programs that somehow caused it to mess up. Anyone have any clue how to enable viewing and saving gifs again when viewing them online? (they work fine when viewing them off my desktop and or when I am making these gif files)

The image above should also be moving...but again its disabled for me for some reason on this computer. Though I dont think it matters, I do use windows xp prof.

Edit: Re-installed Irfanview and it did nothing. Uninstalled all the crap gif programs I installed and still nothing. It is still allowing me to save that file only as .bmp. So for some reason I guess its viewing that online gif as a bmp file but why and how would I change it?

Being able to save only in bmp format is a known issue and is resolved 99% of the time by emptying IE's cache (Tools>Internet Options>General tab>Delete files button (delete all offline content, too)).

Some popup stoppers will keep animations from displaying. If you have a popup stopper, try disabling it and see if the animations work.

Finally, check in IE>Tools>Internet Options>Advanced tab, scroll down to Multimedia and make sure that "Play animations in web pages" is checked.

Thanks for the help. I am at work right now and I am almost certain that will work. I know its not my internet options or my firewall/pop up blocker settings. Also what you said was a match I just earlier found with google. Anyway when I get home I'll be sure to do that first.
