SP2 failed message-no explanation given
After downloading the 95MB, it says update failed and does not give any reason whatsover (thanks Microsoft, it's good to see you understand you OS so well-NOT).
Has anyone else gotten this message and had a workaround? Before you ask, yes, it's a legitimate copy of XP. thanks, Anthony |

does your system meet the minium requrements ?
did you have all the security programs turned off before the install ? |

I used the online chat tech support from MS and they gave me a link to downoad the entire file. Hopefully that will take care of problem.
I'm not sure what 'security programs' you're referring to bailey, but thanks anyway. |

any anti virous, ad blocking and pop-up blocking software plus any programs like norton system manager and xp's built in firewall.

I believe you also have to have system restore turned off as well.
