SP2 failed message-no explanation given

After downloading the 95MB, it says update failed and does not give any reason whatsover (thanks Microsoft, it's good to see you understand you OS so well-NOT).

Has anyone else gotten this message and had a workaround?

Before you ask, yes, it's a legitimate copy of XP.

thanks,

Anthony

I used the online chat tech support from MS and they gave me a link to downoad the entire file. Hopefully that will take care of problem.

I'm not sure what 'security programs' you're referring to bailey, but thanks anyway.

Send a message via AIM to compusport
I believe you also have to have system restore turned off as well.
