Norton 2003 Not Scanning Outgoing Email

Hi All

I recently formatted and started again on my PC and installed everything back to how it was...

Anyway, I installed NAV 2003 again and started using my PC as normal. Now when I send an Email, the Email scanning progress bar is not displayed and it does not appear to be working.

I have the "Scan Outgoing Email" Selected as well as the "Show Progress Bar" option.

I am using NAV 2003 and Outlook express 6. I have used both of these together before without a problem, but this time it dont seem to like it. It is all running on XP Pro.

I have updated the NAV with Liveupdate and no luck, also tried re-installing etc. I looked on the Norton website to no luck either.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Are you running ZoneAlarm 5.0 as your firewall ?

Its Zone Alarm Pro, the latest edition, so I assume yes. Is this the reason?

You have 5.0 and that's one of the things it crippled.
The latest ZA, the 5.1 update, corrects that problem so go over to the ZA site and download it .

I don't know how you set things up when you installed ZApro but there is an automatic update alert feature that you should have enabled.

edit : after you get to the page find your pro version and you will see that the latest update corrects the e-mail check problem in Norton's 2003.
In case you haven't done so already it would be a good idea to check the disk defrag, and chk disk are also working for you.
