CRASH DVD burning

Hiya

I have an .avi file that I want to burn onto a DVD+R, the file is 707MB. I use Nero 6 to burn dvd's but when I add this it says it's too big, and it turns into over 5GB. Is there anyway to shrink it or something? Anyone have any ideas?

A DVD rip that you downloaded is not legal, so we can't help you here.

Anyway, 707 MB fit easily on a DVD+R, it holds 4.37 GB. But the resulting disc won't be DVD-Video compatible.

Yep. Buy the original DVD. Problem solved
