Bootvis-interesting program, cut 20 secs off my boot
I just tried this and went from 1' 15" to about 55". Not great, but better. I still think something is holding up my boot time. I have SATA WD RAPTOR HD, amd 3500+. Everything in bios is pretty much optimized, I turned off controller that I wasn't using (PROMISE controller), etc.
This is a fairly new computer with little installed so I'm not sure where to go from here. any suggestions for reducing boot time further? |

Have you turned off your serial and parallel ports in the BIOS? (Leave them on if you use them, though)
Here's a few other tweaks: http://www.pcmech.com/show/optimize/677/9/
