Smart Cards

Hello everybody

I want to know for which purpose is Smart Card used and what is its function?

Smart Card is used in certain digital cameras. My Fugi for instance has a Smart card and I can insert it into my HP printer and download the pictures to my hard drive or print them.

No, not all printers have memory card slots. Card slots can be found in other places. Some PC's have a card reader built in. You can also buy card readers seperately. HERE is an example of an all-in-one card reader that will read just about any memory card around.

Err.. are you talking about SmartMedia cards or Smart cards? the ones that a digital camera uses is smartmedia! The definitions and the functions of SmartMedia vs Smart Card are NOT interchangeable. This is the basic definition of a smart card: http://java.sun.com/products/javacard/smartcards.html
