Windows XP

Hey PCMECH new t the forums got a big problem I recently turned on my computer and I got a message during the boot screen that said A corrupted file System32 and then it says to repair with windows cd so I put my windows xp cd in and as soon as it finishes goes to the blue screen to install all those drivers I get this "an unexpected error occured at (301992501) line 1768 in d:\xpclient\base\boot\setup\arcdisc.c. can somebody please help me is my hard drive dead? Thanks

Welcome to PCMECH

You might want to try to boot witht he xp cd and do a repair instalation from there. See how that goes.

I did that already when I try to repair it game me that message that I posted earlier it doesnt let me do nothing install or repair.

This link http://66.102.7.104/search?q=cache:6...ine+1768&hl=en seems to suggest that maybe you have a damaged ram module. I know the error number isnt the same, but it might be a clue.
You might try moving your memory to a different slot if you can. Or try removing them one at a time if you have all the slots full.
