Question How about MyIE2 browser ?

Hi,

I have come across a new browser, MYIE2 (www.myie2.com). I feel that it has a good lot of features such as ad-blocker and tabbed browsing..

What I would like to know is this...Is it vulnerable to any security threat, or does it contain a snooping software or any other spyware/adware ?

Any ideas??
Please provide a feedback at the earliest.

thanks

AFAIK, MyIE2 is a front end for the IE browser. Thus, any security flaws in IE would also be present in MyIE2. The bells and whistles are different, but the inner workings are the same.

Yep, doctorgonzo is right...any security flaw in IE will be present in MYIE2.

MYIE2 isn't exactly new, it's been around for years. I tried it a few years ago but didn't like how it ate up resources in Win98SE.

I use FireFox most of the time now.

I use MIE2 exclusively. I love it. Yes, it's based on IE and those flaws are there but they really don't affect me. I have good browsing habits and that's all it takes. They have fixed the resource problem. MYE2 takes up less than IE. There are too many little goodies to mention plus all the plugins that are available. The newest version is actually called Maxthon. I don't know why they changed the name but it is the same as MIE2.

I use Firefox - for a while, I've considered MyIE2 because MSIE is generally thought of as the most vulnerable of the browsers - whether it's true or not, I have the feeling it is. The Security Flaws in IE are usually insignificant as long as you use common sense and good security measures to avoid them. In short, use common sense and MyIE2 should do. Looks much like Opera paid version...
