Please advise re: vBulletin
Hello all,
I'm working on a website with a forum for some snobby Dr Types to talk to each other about how great they are. I don't really want to spend all the time learning PHP and mySQL or some equivalent so I'm looking into some software that's already written. I thought the obvious choice was vBulletin. They want $85 per license. Seems reasonable enough to me. You guys know of anything better? Is this too much for what I'm looking for? Thanks for the help! |

phpBB is free, it lacks some of vB features, but still, it's an excellent forum software.

I've never used this before. Is it easy for the user? We have to keep it as simple as can be on the user end. These guys may be Dr.'s but they aren't rocket scientists, if you know what I mean.

I've been looking at it. It seems pretty strait forward, so I downloaded it and I'll start installing it later this week. Thanks for the info.
Have you set it up before? Anything I should know going it? |

Yes, I've set it up many times before, you just unpack the compressed file, run the installation script, and then delete it, pretty straightforward.
Check the readme for more info. |
