Hi All:

I received my PC Mechanic Newsletter #55, and saw some free downloads that were interesting to me, so I created a folder for each download and downloaded them, "Gizmo's Top Picks".

Well, not one of them installed completely, the Reminder installed, but wouldn't open.

The Port Scanner, and the Remove Home Search Browser Hijack both said that something went wrong, I don't remember what the messages were.

I had all programs shut down by End It All, except MSN Messenger, and Zone Alarm that I shut down manually.

As I ran into trouble on each one, I removed them (uninstalled)

What bothers me is, I had just ran AVG before downloading, and my system was clean, no viruses or trojans.

After downloading I ran Reg Clean, and then the AVG, well it found two Trojans, Downloader A , and Startpage 9.BH. AVG took care of them

I thought the best thing to do was notify you all, that maybe you would have a way to find out if these trojans came from any of the above sites.

Anyway, I'm back to square one, all is well, but I don't want to attempt trying to install any of them again untill I find out if these trojans were causing my install problems.
