Sharing Outlook
I recently set up MS Outlook 2003 so I can use the calendar features. I'm still using the Hotmail web interface for Email. The problem is that I set it up on this computer and entered all the events into the calendar. Now, obviously, all that stuff is not on my other PC. Is there any way to make it so that Outlook on my other PC gets the information from this one? Sort of synchronizing? For example, I have all my documents, pictures, etc. stored on this PC. I have the other one set so that when I click "My Documents" in the start menu it opens My Documents from this PC. Is there any way to do something similar with Outlook and maybe even games?

This is kinda low tech, but I've done this with Outlook 2000:
On the computer that you do NOT want to be the "master", rename outlook.pst to outlook.pst.old - and open Outlook. It will scream that it can't find your personal folders file and let you browse to find it. Browse to the outlook.pst file on the "master" computer over the network. If you do this, you should never try to open Outlook on both computers simultaneously, there will be a sharing violation. I seem to remember the only way to have true sharing is if you link to an Exchange server - or use Windows offline folders for .pst synchronization. |
