Shutdown

I am having a problem with shuttind down my computer. I'm running Win2000 and when I shut the system down by going through Start -> Shutdown -> Shutdown, the system hangs and I have to shut it down by flicking the switch in back of the PC. Can anyone help me?

try scanning for spyware. Do you have alot of programs by the clock opened when shutting down?

Note: To turn off you computer hold down the power button for about 5 seconds and it should shut down.

No, I do not have a lot of programs running by the system clock. I think you are right about scanning the PC. I will try that and see if it works.
