Can't remove Trojan
I had a message from NIS 2004 saying it couldn't remove Bloodhound.Exploit.6. I tried following the removal instructions and applied a path but I've no success in removing it. Can anyone help me?

You can find detailed instructions as to how to apply the patch for the vulnerability as described in Microsoft Security Bulletin MS04-013. in the following Symantec link.

I've tried to apply a patch but none of them will work because I have Windows 2000 and they only work with Windows XP.

Did you check this one out ? http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en If you scroll down and read through the whole list you'll see it supports Windows 2000.

You can try and download a free anti-virus tool such as avast home edition and see if it can remove. Some virus software works better than others.

Karnevil, there's nothing to remove. It's simply telling you that you need to patch the vulnerability.
http://securityresponse.symantec.com...exploit.6.html Seems to me that if you visited Windows Update and got caught up on your critical updates, this patch would be installed - but Pam has the correct link for a direct download if you have OE6. |

I thought he was saying that it was on the PC and he couldn't get rid of it. Does the patch remove the trojan once it is on the pc or just prevent the trojan from getting in? |

Do NIS have an email address or a forum so I can sort this out?

jibstar - do your Windows critical updates. However it gets installed (this way or a direct download), you have to apply the patch one way or the other.
karnevil - There is nothing to *remove* - it's a heuristic detection of a vulnerability. |
