Why can't I burn a WMA cd??

Hey, I'm trying to put a bunch of WMA files on a cd to play in my car. I'm using the Nero burn program that came with my DVDRW. I add all the files, make sure it's under 750mb, and when I go to start the burn, it says that the incorrect disc is in the drive, and to make sure that I have to the correct one in there. What's going on here? When the Smart Start pops up, I select "Burn a WMA Disc". I'm assuming that the program knows I want it to be on a CDR. Am I really as dumb as I'm hoping I'm not?
