Outlook Express Question

I have a computer that needs to be wiped and the only thing the fella wants to save is email that is on his hard drive,I looked around a bit and cannot find anyplace to export these items so I can place on the drive after the reinstall.
Im thinking I can extract the files by using windows explorier to find them and then just place on the fresh drive..is this possible and if so where exactly are the files???TIA
