Fax Program?
I'm wondering about the sanity of purchasing a fax program for my computer (a refurbished DELL Optiplex GX1). I have a good printer (3-in-one - scan, print, photocopy) so don't want to get a 4-in-one, but one of my jobs seems to want me to be able to fax my timesheets in instead of e-mailing them (I prefer scanning and then e-mailing).
So - what's the best choice of program (cheaper is easier on the budget), or is it even advisable to get one of these things? I'm assuming I can scan in the timesheet and then fax it easily enough... Thanks! -Janna |

What version of Windows is on that machine? Do you have all the original Dell CD's? Did the machine come with a modem? You very likely have one already and either don't realize it or you need to configure a couple things.

Um, I'm running Windows 98.
I installed a dial-up modem when I got it, but now I use cable to access the internet. I have no Dell CDs. Where should I look for the program? I can probably figure out how it works once I get it set up. Thanks! -Janna |

If you have a Windows 98 CD, you can install the MS Fax that shipped with Win95. Basic barebones, but it works.
http://www.windowsgalore.com/windows.98/tip1.html If you installed a retail boxed modem, a fax program may be on its installation CD. |
