How I see it (I am a ff user):
+ No ActiveX, and less (but not none) security holes + Tabbed browsing + Themes + Extensions + Better support for the standards + Not tied into the operating system - Some pages, made for IE, don't display propely in IE. - Not currently at 1.0, although the Preview Release for it is out For course, I am an FF user and so heavily biased towards it. |

It comes down to personal preference really. Try both and decide what are the pros and cons for *you*, because everyone has a different view on it. For me, "Not tied into the operating system" is neither + nor -, it's just a fact, nothing more. And "Tabbed browsing" is something I don't need at all, so it's also neither + nor -.
I like IE very much. For me it's IE because, well, I've always used IE, tried Firefox, but Firefox doesn't have any advantages for me, so I stay with IE. IE is also faster than firefox on my computer. RJ

I use Firefox becuase I was tired of pop-ups, ads, and hijacks. I like the tabbed browsing and themes.

"- Some pages, made for IE, don't display propely in IE."
thats a - for the site, not the browser, FF is listens to the standards.

I've used IE for years. I decided to try Firefox. I downloaded it and it installed without any problems. It worked fine. I can't say browsing speed was better or worse but it was a little different. My biggest problem were the sites I use that Firefox couldn't handle and sites where photos wouldn't display. I went back to IE.
I didn't use Firefox enough to get a real feel for tabbed browsing. I don't think I'd use it much. If I need to, I open a second window with IE and that meets my needs. Popups and such have been blocked with IE since SP2 for Windows came out. For me, it's six of one, half-dozen of another unless you really want to visit sites that need IE. |

I never really liked FireFox as much as I like Maxthon. It is an IE variant with many more options and features and I really like it.

I would tend to agree with HiHo. I hadn't tried Maxthon and I saw it mentioned in one of the forums (possibly a recommendation by HiHo) so I downloaded it, and so far, I like it better than FireFox and IE. You can skin it, it has tabbed browsing, an ad-blocker and pop up blocker etc... A definite + for me is the fact that I really like sounds when I navigate web pages, with FireFox, you don't get the navigation sounds.

Personal preference,I have tried most of the different browsers and I try to keep up with all of them,I like I.E. the best myself,as I have no problems with it and it was the first browser I ever used.Maxthon is very good also,I have FF and use it to keep myself aware enough of it to be able to use it if ever need be.I have 3 different browsers on my machine at the moment so as to use whichever I feel like at the time.

I like the extensions and plugins you can add into Firefox...I like both IE and Firefox, but Firefox seems to give me far less cookies and spyware as scanned by Adaware. Though personal caution should make this irrelevant, it's good to be in the peace of mind that it attracts less malware and spyware.
