Excel Gurus --- Help Please!!!
Hi,
I have a worksheet with a series of dates (Top row) on it and and a set of figures on the bottom row. These figures represent total vaccinations performed and the dates they were achieved. Is there a formula/function I can write that will check in the "Date" row for the current date and then lookup and display the vaccination figure achieved for that date? All help would be greatly appreciated. NPP

I'm not an Excel Guru but have you tried the data sort function?
(based on 2002 version) (highlight data including header)DATA\SORT\Choose column or row name |

Hi Smidget,
Got it to work finally. The HLOOKUP/VLOOKUP functions are the natural candidates for the job I need. It was just that they kept returning errors. I kept trying it and then HLOOKUP just worked on one try, nothing different being done. SORT would just sort the list in ascending/descending order. What I needed done was for the function to lookup the value of a cell based on current date and report it in a separate cell elsewhere in the workbook. Thanks anyway for taking the time to help. Is this what you're looking for?
Changing the date in C6 will give you the corresponding value for vaccinations..
