As an aside - the problems that SP2 causes are just mounting and mounting..........

Is your Adobe Reader updated to 6.02?

that doesnt really help i think, because:

1. i dont have SP2.

2. it doesnt only happen with IE, basically any program...

I get that kind of message even with a fresh install of Windows 2000. Mostly with Internet Explorer though.

Same messages also occur when I use the WIN2K computers at the college.

Could not figure out what is the problem yet.

o, sry, i forgot to mention this. after i wrote this, i tested both modules, both came out clean.
also, my connection kept disconnecting and connecting back after like half a minute, but after i did the memtest test, i swapped the memory modules, and im not getting those reconnects anymore (only really rarely, which, i hope, have nothing to do with my memory modules.)
but im still getting those errors, i think its abit less frequent right now, but it still happens almost every single time i close an application.

10x alot,

I was having similar problems the other day.

Did you install any software recently?
Do you have netlimiter installed, by any chance?
Have you tried scanning for viruses and trojans?
Housecall AV: http://housecall.trendmicro.com/
Trojan Scan: http://www.windowsecurity.com/trojan...hecksystem.asp

Have you tried scanning for spyware with spybot and adaware with updated definitions?

i cant think of any brand new software, except... NETLIMITER!!! :-P
could that be the problem ? dont think it was installed on that day exactly but im pretty sure it happened like a few days after maximum...
i use AVG, didnt use those 2 links.
i have scanned my machine, found one trojan and removed successfully, still same prob, ran memtest and no errors, did spyware checks with updated definitions of course :-P

plz dont tell me ill have to remove netlimiter, its just that if i do then emule will go at 12k/s upload and thats my cap at that speed, if my upload even exceeds 2kb/s then my connection goes down the well, even 1k/s actually, thats y theres netlimiter which limits it at 1k/s

10x man,
