greedo What's a good weather program

hi, i was just wondering what you guys use as a program to give you the weather? i've tried so many diff. ones. such as wetsock (which costs $12 now), weather.com (which takes up a lot of memory) weathercast (which just sux) and weatherbug (which seems to have a bunch of spyware with it). i'd appreciate any suggestions.
thanks!

I just set up a hotkey on my keyboard to the local TV station that offers the best weather coverage.

if you use firefox, theres a neat little program called WeatherFox, that can tell you up-to-date weather information in your browser (i put mine in the lower corner). It takes up very little memory, and is very customizeable to your needs.

check it out:

Thanks rjbd52...gotta check that out myself. I use the desktop sidebar program that tells you among other things, the weather and forecast.

I use weather watcher it is small and unobtrusive, it has satelite shots and it will give you the weather for any part of the world. It gets it's information from weather.com. It's not the flashiest piece of software I have ever seen but it works and it's free.

Hey rhdb52,

Do you know (or could you take a quick peek) if weatherfox gives reports in Canada too (specifically Toronto area)? I'm using "Desktop Weather" from the weather channel because it's one of the only ones I could find that covers major Canadian cities too. It's a great little application but it's a bit of a memory pig!

Thanks,
Stryker

yeah, i've decided to just use weatherbug. it's not too bad if you use spybot and adaware after you've installed it (surprisingly it still works). i tried weather watcher but i couldn't get it to work. looking out the window seems the best solution.

yup..it reports in Canada (it uses weather.com, so it does the entire world).

You put your postal code in the region you want. it can also find your code if you just have a location.

i checked it out for Toronto and this is the code that it says to use:
CAXX0504

HTH!

Come on Panama, we live in the same area - none of the local stations have even decent weather coverage.

Look up NOAA, I know they've got satellites flying around giving up to date feeds. Try looking on an online site instead of using a program

You're right, SV, but over the years I've become accustomed to Craig and the crew at channel 8. The local guys do a better job than any national sevice I've checked out. Anyone that attempts to forecast the weather in West Michigan has to have a few screws loose anyway with the way things change so rapidly here.

Weather Watcher 55 is not working for some reason but 54 is working fine for me.
