Outlook express email change

When sending an email, how does one change their email address in the from box? It appears to be written in stone. Also does this have an effect on creating new email or replying to an existing email which also is malfunctioning. Incoming is fine.

To change the address the email displays as the from address, in OE go to Tools>Account, double click on the account you want to change. In the General tab, change the information in the "Email address field" or put a different address into the "Reply address" field. Whichever you do, if the recipient uses the Reply feature for that message, it will go to the address in the Email address field unless you have something in the Reply address field, in which case it will go to that one.
