Synchronising Outlook 2000 Pro
I currently utilise Outlook 2000 Pro as my default mail handler on my office PC connected to a network.
I have recently had ADSL installed at home and have bought a computer so that I can work from home when I don't feel like going to the office. What I would like to know is if I can synchronise Outlook between the 2 computers so that I don't have to save e-mails and contacts to a flash-drive every time I make changes to one of the systems? Is there any way I can access my office PC from home? Regards CJ |

Exactly, and it's the most secure way to remote control out there.
http://www.slipstick.com/outlook/sync.htm See if that helps. |

Very true (pertaining to the security aspect). May have to look at it more indepth.
Some interesting programs on Slipstick. Have currently got Plaxo which performs a similar function as to Synching, but only contact, calender and tasks. What i was hoping for was a program that could synch all the folders (inbox, sent items, drafts etc). Appreciate the help GLC. |

You can remote control with VNC (free) but it requires ports be open on the firewall and forwarded to your workstation. This obviously requires your sysadmin's blessing and assistance.

If you are going to use VNC there are lots of different versions, personally I use Ultr@VNC ( http://sourceforge.net/projects/ultravnc/ ) but considering I only run it on an internal network, with no access to the outside world I do not know how secure it is.
