quickbook gurus - help me restore backup

hi all,

whenever i try to restore the .qbw file backed up, the data comes up butthe last 6 months of transactions are missing, as if the backup were made months ago.

do you have any idea what could be causing this problem??

I figured out why the restore didn't work. I was trying to restore the data and overwrite the original file (I know, you're not supposed to do this, but I have my reasons).

When you try to overwrite the existing company file, there is a dialogue box that asks you to not only click the 'yes, I want to overwrite existing daya' button, but also (and I didn't see this in my first attempts) a second data entry box in which you have to type in "YES" in uppercase and before you click the 'yes' button.

So the first few times the program didn't overwrite the original company file as I wanted it to, explaining the missing data.
