need to shrink or split a video file

i have a few video files that are bigger than my cds (they are 700 meg cd-rws) and i need to know how to shrink them down or split them so they will fit on a disc. i have winzip (the free trial), winrar (free trial) and this new sorenson squeeze (free trial).

i need to know (in a pretty in depth set of instructions ) how to accomplish the task with these tools.

I know virtualdub spilts video files. I'm not quite sure if it can put two together or not. It's worth checking out.

When I have large files that I want to burn to CD's I use the Splitter. It splits files and puts them back together.
