I also prefer PowerDVD, but WinDVD isn't too bad either. The reason I prefer PowerDVD to WinDVD is that with a couple of my DVDs, WinDVD would have a few pauses during playback, but those same DVDs worked fine when I played them with PowerDVD.

I am using PowerDVD XP and it is a marked improvement over WinDVD4 which I was using before.

Using PowerDVD XP, too. Great program, and I like it better than WinDVD.
Most times one of them comes with your DVD-ROM drive and your graphics card, so I'd look on respective CDs, maybe you find PowerDVD or WinDVD on it. RJ

I'm using WinDVD, only because it came bundled with my P4P800D. I guess it's a good program; I haven't really tried anything else, because I haven't needed to. The only thing I don't like about it is the 'OEM' version(which I have)doesn't support more than 2 speakers. For better speaker support, you have to "upgrade". I think PowerDVD XP came bundled with my Lite-On CD-RW, maybe I'll give that a try.

I have supplied and fitted quite a few DVD's over the years and my copy of PowerDVD XP, was the first one I had received bundled (rather than WinDVD which all the others came with) that needed an activation code, maybe thats why it runs so well, possibly a full version, not OEM.
