I don't know how familiar you are with the registry but before you play with fire!!!...
Have you tried going into Tools menu - Internet Options and change the Home Page address? Have you used programs like Adaware SE and Spybot? Edit: Oh and while you are at it, have you updated your virus checker and run a deep virus scan lately? Last edited by HyperTF; 11-18-2004 at 07:39 AM. |

Hey I just found this web page which seems pretty on the ball... Yeah, I am a relatively new user of HijackThis and so far it has proved its worth!

As HTF said, before you try editing the registry download AdAware and Spybot and see if that helps. Also try changing the hompeage in the options.

Thanks for helping. Yes I use both spybot and adaware and have done the options thing as well. The homepage changes for the next open but then reverts to one of three highjackers for subsequent logons. I have just found a thread that mentions something about working in safe mode. I will read that and see what it offers. Is there a book or tuition for amateurs like me that won't let me get into too much trouble. I have learnt to maintain 4 pc's in our house and have successfully reformatted several times. Currently run XP pro on P3 with 256 Ram 10 Gig HD, 1.7 processor. Thanks again.
