Yeah, it's a good idea to get and use both Ad-Aware and Spybot: Search & Destroy.
You also want to get a few spyware blockers like SpywareBlaster, IE Spyad, a modified HOSTS file and a Block List file. Cricket

I have Adaware, Spybot S&D with NOD32 AV (30 USD) and then I use SpywareBlaster and SpywareGuard as prevenatives.
