Unhappy Porn Dialers

My mom was browsing and some how stumbled in some gay porn site which has managed to installer some programs onto my PC. I've tried removing them with NIS 2004, Ad-Aware, and Spybot S&D with no luck.
It also won't let me delete them physically. Can anyone help?

Use AdAware and Spybot from safe mode.

Have you tried to boot into safe mode, kill the processes (if any), and delete the files?

Have a little read here, it will give you most of the information you need to boot into safe mode and what to look out for when working in safe mode, also the reasons when dealing with viruses and malware, why you do it from safe mode.

smokin

After you get the junk off your system, here is a good program to keep it from running that junk in the future.

All of the dialers I've seen installed on computers came from Active X, so yes, Firefox will stop them.

Remember to tell her not to open attachments or untrusted files from the web too.

I use a free version of Move on Boot. Works great for removing files that can't be deleted.

Updating to SP2 helps this situation too.

I couldn't find any reference to WinXP in the original post, I wonder if IE updates in SP2 can be applied to Win2K (or 9x/ME).

Nope. The IE6 improvements are strictly for XP. If you are running 2K or earlier, you are better off with an alternative browser or 3rd party IE helpers/customizations.
