skipping while ripping
i bought the halo 2 soundtrack and i went to rip it to my computer with windows media player 10. it worked fine except for the last 3 tracks. they were skipping all over the place. after about 4 tries i got 2 of them to rip correctly. however the last one won't. the majority of the song is fine but there is a 5 second gap in the middle of the song with the next 40 seconds puncuated by skips. it plays fine off the cd, and other cds rip fine. any ideas?

the first thing I'd try is different software to rip it, such as iTunes or Exact Audio Copy.
