remoivng files from WMP, REAL, and Itunes libaries
Ive been ripping a bunch of CDs to my computer, prior to this i had a bunch of mp3s on it from these same cds, but now im doing all the tracks on each cd in AAC, i need to remove the old tracks once im done but this always creates problems because when i do this all my libraries get messed up (iTunes, realplayer, WMP) and although i plan to use Itunes from now on, how can i do this without screwing up the library and having it still show all the tracks and ask me to locate them? basically i just need itunes to work, could i uninstall itunes when in done then reinstall and do this for the others as well so that they wont have the old files??
EDIT: is there any way to just make these files not included in my iTunes library but still keep them on the computer? i just need them to be out of the way as i dont want repeated songs in the library and dont want repeated songs on my iPod. I also want to convert a few of these mp3s into AAC instead of deleting them...any way to do this?? Last edited by inflames988; 11-24-2004 at 06:59 PM. |

Yes. I tunes just takes for its library files you already have stored in your computer. The easiest way to keep unwanted tunes out is not to make iTunes the default player. I test songs on WMP. If I want them in iTunes, I drag them into my iTunes library.
