Nero 6 Question
Hello all,
I ordered a new DVD burner and since my old version of Nero (5.5.x) only worked with the cdrw it came with I'm looking into buying Nero 6. Can someone explain to me the difference between the different suites? That is, what is the difference between Nero 6 suites 1, 2, and 3? Or should I forget that altogether and go for the Ultra Version of Nero 6? Thanks in advance. |

I am not sure if there are much in the way of differences between the various versions, but what I do know is that, the newer the version of Nero you buy, the more chance there is of it supporting your DVD/CD writer. I have a brand new Sony DVD writer and the only version of Nero that works with it AND supports buffer under run is Nero 6.3
Try and buy the most up to date version you can find and don't forget that not all versions of Nero will burn DVD's without the additional plugins. Of all the burning suites I have used the most user friendly to me was Roxio EzyCD creator platignum, but that would not work with the new Sony I bought hence the switch to Nero.

Nero breaks itself down into various components. The most important are 1 and 2. The rest are various features you may or may not want. If you buy Nero, you are entitled to it all, but may not want it all.

Thanks guys. I'm still a little confused. So does Nero 6 suite one refer to Nero 6.1 or Nero 6 with component one? Thanks again.

I look at Nero 6 as Nero Ultra Edition and NeroVision Express 2. All the other 'stuff' I don't want or need. NeroVision Express 2 makes DVD authoring straight forward and pretty simple. It's evn capable of converting frame rates of videos (a friend from Germany sent me some home video of his newborn via our company ftp that was in PAL format. NeroVision Express 2 easily converted it to NTSC without all the little demuxing tricks I'd normally have to do). Nero Ultra Edtion is Nero as most people know it - Nero Burning ROM with or without a wizard.
Like RayH said, during installation Nero will break itself down into 3 parts - just pick and choose which you'd like. Dave. |
